Research on the role of corporation and technology for sustainability
Pasi Heikkurinen (D.Sc. in Bus. and Econ.) works as a Lecturer in Business and Sustainable Change at the University of Leeds, Sustainability Research Institute (SRI). His current research focus is two-fold. The first line of investigation deals with the role and responsibility of the corporation, as well as other forms of economic organisation, for strong sustainability. The second investigation line scrutinises the limitations of technological solutions in the quest of ecological sustainability. In research, as well as teaching, Pasi emphasises transdisciplinary and holistic approaches as important means to gaining understanding of the prevailing unsustainability, and the urgently needed, alternative pathways for organising human activities.
