Senior Researcher and Project Sub-Leader of “Lifeworlds of Sustainable Food Consumption and Production: Agrifood Systems in Transition (FEAST)” at Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), Kyoto, Japan

Born in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo, Japan, Norie Tamura received her PhD of Applied Biosciences from Kyoto University (2007). She is currently Senior Researcher and Project Sub-Leader of “Lifeworlds of Sustainable Food Consumption and Production: Agrifood Systems in Transition (FEAST)” at Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN). Prior to her current assignments, she has extensively worked as a consultant at a private think tank for 10 years. Her research interests include natural resource management, commons, human resource and policy development in primary industries ranging from agriculture, forestry to fisheries, with a particular focus placed on support mechanisms in rural communities in Japan. Through her careers both as consultant and researcher, she has engaged in a number of projects and fieldworks across Japan.
