Activist Session: South-North Dialogue on Systemic Alternatives
Working out a holistic and comprehensive alternative to the dominant development model requires inclusive and honest dialouge. In Europe special efforts are needed to provide listening and dialogue spaces from the Global South where world marginalised majorities by and large live. Such majorities include women, low-income, rural, youth, colour and vernacular. The South-North Dialogue on Systemic Alternatives attempts to provide a space and voice for people who engage in movements and processes that advance the interests of such majorities with a commitment to democracy and ecological sustainability. The sessions takes forward debates and initiatives that are particularly vibrant in the Global South. They include buen vivir, ecological swaraaj, deglobalisation/swadeshi, rights of the Mother Earth, and post-extractivism, among others.
