Individual Paper: The EUROGREENS 2 model of job creation in a post-growth economy
This paper presents EUROGREENS 2, a macroeconomic model of the French economy. The model is closely based on empirical data with econometric analysis as well as post-Keynesian economic theory. It is a large policy-oriented model addressing several policy issues: a transition to renewable energies, border carbon adjustments, working time reduction, a job guarantee, a basic income, and the promotion of the social economy. EUROGREENS 2 addresses the challenge of keeping both involuntary unemployment and inequality low in an ecologically sustainable post-growth economy, open to international trade and capital flows. A range of scenarios are generated from the present to the year 2050. The model is part of the new research field of ecological macroeconomics. It was commissioned by members of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament, and is a complete reworking of the EUROGREENS 1 model (see link).
