Speaker: Raúl Velasco-Fernández
Raúl Velasco-Fernández research focuses on the study of the Societal Metabolism within the framework of Ecological Economics from a biophysical and multiscale approach, applying concepts of thermodynamics and complex systems theory. He has experience in the field of cooperation and education for sustainable development at local and international level. Master's in Environmental Studies major in Ecological Economics and Environmental Management at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB, 2012), BA in Sociology from the University of Barcelona (UB, 2012) and Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC, 2008 ). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) at UAB within the IASTE research group (Integrated Assessment: Sociology, Technology and the Environment).
