After having completed a Bachelor's Degree in International and Cultural Business Studies in Germany some years ago, I am now dedicating myself to a Masters Program of Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Starting this Master's some months ago was basically like plunging in unknown waters, subjects, fields of study and research. Having been introduced to political ecology and ecological economics, I am now dedicating my second semester to my thesis project which is related to degrowth and subjective well-being in alternative food networks in Barcelona.
The research touches upon questions of inherent neoliberalism in such networks, as well as their contribution to degrowth and degrowth's contribution to the network's functioning. However, the focus is put on questions related to subjective well-being and happiness being linked to participation in food cooperatives.
