Dr. Angelos Varvarousis is an urban planner and geographer who holds a Ph.D. in urban political ecology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He also holds a master's in urban planning and a master's in architectural technology.

Dr. Angelos Varvarousis is an urban planner and geographer who holds a Ph.D. in urban political ecology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He also holds a master's in urban planning and a master's in architectural technology. He is currently employed by the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) and he coordinates a research project on Commons and Social Movements while he also teaches the relevant course at the Master Program on Political Ecology, Degrowth, and Environmental Justice. His main research interests revolve around the fields of the commons, alternative lifestyles, degrowth and social and solidarity economy. Dr. Varvarousis has also worked with major international institutions such as the European Commission, the British Council, the Onassis Cultural Foundation and the Oslo Architecture Triennale. He is developing the theoretical framework of "Liminal Commons" in order to understand and theorize temporary commoning experiences in the contemporary world. He is an amateur photographer, musician, and dancer.
