Version 3.2_September 2016

Speaker: Charles Bassey

I work as a senior management staff of a financial institution in Nigeria, in the area of security risk management while maintaining eclectic links with academia as Associate Tutor in the Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management Programme of the University of Leicester, UK.

I have always described myself as a misfit of sorts or a fragmented whole, one who loves the outdoors and the freedom that nature bestows. Somewhat reflective in personality, but a good one-on-one friend. I enjoy cooking when I have the time and helping young people develop their personal resourcefulness. My academic and research interests have covered areas like gender and food security, risk management and reflective practices and how development can be made to be more inclusive and result-oriented.
