I am a senior lecturer in economics with 20 years’ experience in Higher Education. My role at the University of Cumbria involves work on conventional undergraduate and MBA programmes, as well as involvement with the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS). With a first degree in Economics, MA in International Studies, MA in Creative Writing and interdisciplinary PhD from Lancaster University I take a trans-disciplinary approach to research, considering the underlying economic and political pressures but also the overarching metanarrative that constrains thinking and prevents serious exploration of alternative perspectives on the current and on-going crises facing the global economy. My current research interests are in Peak Oil, Resource Depletion, Economic Collapse and De-Growth.
