Pernilla Hagbert is part of the trans-disciplinary research project ”Beyond GDP growth: Scenarios for sustainable building and planning” at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.

Pernilla Hagbert is a PhD candidate at Dept. Of Architecture, at Chalmers University of Technology and guest PhD at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and will be defending her thesis at the end of August 2016.

The PhD work explores the socio-cultural aspects of home-related practices, notions or representations, and critically examines contemporary and future housing development in light of a global resource perspective. The purpose of the research is to provide knowledge relevant to the creation of a radically less resource intensive and more socially just built environment, and explores alternative diverse future visions of the 'good home' beyond current normative and structural lock-ins.

As part of the trans-disciplinary research project ”Beyond GDP growth: Scenarios for sustainable building and planning” at KTH, Pernilla's work explores the future of the housing sector, an understanding of people's everyday (home) lives and implications for policy and planning.
